13U Blue Go 56-18-1; Win CRAB League Championship

Congratulations to the 13U Blue Raiders for finishing their season with an impressive overall record of 56-18-1 since last fall. The team also compiled a 12-2-1 record during league play and won the prestigious CRAB League Championship. The CRAB (Chesapeake Regional Amateur Baseball) League is invite only and features some of the best 13U teams in the state of Maryland. Elite programs such as the Olney Pirates, BCC Big Train, and Frederick Hustlers also competed in this year's CRAB League.

During CRAB League play, the 13U Blue Raiders were dominant offensively, scoring a total of 104 runs over 15 games while giving up a league low 47 runs by playing sound defense. "Being invited to play in the CRAB League offered our players an opportunity to see better pitching and stronger competition. I was proud of the way this team responded to that challenge and took care of business all summer long," commented Head Coach Joe D'Alonzo.

Based on the success of this year's team, starting in the fall the 13U Blue team will be skipping the 14U age bracket and competing at the 15U age level. D'Alonzo continued, "having our players continuing to play better competition and older kids has always been a successful formula for my teams. We return 11 of 12 players from this CRAB Championship team and look forward to playing up at 15U and accelerate the growth and development of every player on our roster."
