11U Raider Named 2021 Carson Scholar

Congratulations to Brock Miller, a member of the HCYP Raiders 11U White team, for being named a 2021 Carson Scholar. Thirty Howard County students received recognition for demonstrating outstanding academic achievement and humanitarianism. The scholarship fund was founded by Dr. Ben Carson and his wife in 1994. Dr. Carson is a former pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as a former Federal political appointee.

To receive the award, students must have a grade-point average above 3.75 and demonstrate their humanitarian qualities through community service. Each scholar receives a $1,000 college scholarship award.

Since joining the Raider family at 9U, Brock has consistently demonstrated a love for the game and a willingness to help his teammates succeed. His commitment to being an unselfish, yet competitive team member, is certainly something for which we can all be proud.

Congratulations Brock!
